Country singer Darius Rucker announced Saturday that he and his wife are ending their 20-year marriage.
Rucker, 54 who gained fame as frontman for Hootie & the Blowfish, said he and his wife, Beth Rucker, decided to “consciously uncouple,” People reported.
“We remain close friends and parenting partners and continue to be each other’s biggest cheerleaders. Our priority will always be our beautiful family,” Rucker wrote on Instagram. “We have so much love in our hearts for each other and will continue to encourage growth and expansion in one other.”
The couple were married in 2000 and have two children together, Daniela Rose and Jack, Billboard reported.
Rucker also has an older daughter Carolyn from a previous relationship, CMT.com reported.
Rucker met the then-Beth Leonard when she was working at VH1, the website reported.
Last year, the couple founded and launched the Just Be You organization, a nonprofit with a goal of boosting children’s confidence through self-compassion and self-love, People reported.
