My parents have this thing where if they’re watch a TV show, they mute it when the commercials come on. Then they get involved with something else and I’m watching the show and I have to say, “Hey - unmute the TV! We’re losing the plot of the show!”

Anyway, my daughter is visiting my parents and is the one who informed me of my folks’ brand new fancy refrigerator made by NASA (I’m not embellishing to much - I believe this fridge can send a man to the moon).

Here’s the latest: the refrigerator has a TV on it. I kid you not.

Now Olivia likes to watch different shows than my parents. (Go figure.) And what happens is if my parents are in the kitchen while my daughter is watching Too Hot To Handle (for example) on the refrigerator in the kitchen, they mute it! Or in the case of some shows they’re not pleased my daughter is watching, they’ll say “You are not watching this smut! Not on my fridge!”

Which is not an expression I could’ve predicted anyone saying even a year ago.

“Get that smut off my fridge!”
