It might be my favorite spot in Wynwood, combining a couple of my favorite things... beer and Star Wars!
But, we got worried, as Wynwood’s J. Wakefield Brewing announced they are closing after nearly 10 years in business! Turns out, they’ve simply outgrown their current location and will be soon moving to a new spot. See below... ⬇️⬇️
Forgive us if we shed a premature tear in our beer, because it looked like another hit for Miami’s brewery landscape.
While the “Star Wars”-themed watering hole will see a relocation, there are 3 other Miami breweries set to close, per the Miami Herald.
J. Wakefield posted on Instagram that “the ever-changing landscape of the neighborhood has presented challenges that we can no longer navigate effectively,” before surprising us with the relocation news just 2 days later. Way to freak us out, guys!
We’ll still have until October 27th to visit the current taproom at 120 NW 24th Street in Wynwood with ownership looking at options for a new location saying, “We’ll be keeping you updated on our progress and can’t wait to welcome you [to] our new home when the time comes.”
Cheers! 🍻 Get more details at J. Wakefield’s website below ⬇️⬇️
